The Million Person Project (MPP) is a global project about love, storytelling and connecting change makers.
Founders, Heather Box and Julian Mocine-McQueen, provide an intensive one-day workshop and one-on-one story coaching to train committed community leaders all over the world to courageously and powerfully tell their personal stories of why they are working to transform their communities. The MPP has trained 775 leaders from 35 different countries in the first year alone. Through this process each participant uncovers their authentic story so that it can be used to inspire and connect to others. We then provide one-on-one support with select leaders and facilitate connections that are useful to their project.
Heather and Julian developed this project out of a simple shared belief that, just as the problems plaguing our planet are inherently connected, so are the solutions. We believe that sharing personal stories is a building block to developing deeper connections between change makers that will help transform the world.
Together, these two have more than 15 years of experience in activism, youth leadership, and environmental education. Heather previously worked at 350.org as the East Asian Field Director, at the League of Young Voters as the Deputy Director, and has been an active leader in youth empowerment efforts for years. Julian is currently the Campaign and Partnerships Manager and a Lead Trainer at Green For All, the ground-breaking environmental justice organization founded by green jobs visionary Van Jones.
